Geocache Description:

Off Mulholland Drive

I put this cache here to fill in a large gap between the caches on the dirt Mulholland path.

I picked this location because from here to the east you will see a large blue platform. This is the remains of an army post which contained the radar for the Nike missle program. This was the radar that guided the missiles once they were fired from the Sepulevda basin. If you look north across the valley you can see the remains of another Nike site, although that one is now mostly used for relay towers and a giant golf ball (otherwise known a KABC's doppler radar).

The site on this side is now a park open to the public. It has water fountains and restrooms. It also has information plaques around the site to tell you more about the Nike program.
