Cache was refreshed and steps revised for more accurate co-ords on March 25, 2012
This is a quick, straight-forward multi-cache or 'offset cache'. Go to the coordinates listed above and you'll find an historical plaque. Read the plaque over and note the year that is given (it is listed multiple times but is the same number). Write down the year. Also note the time that is listed on the plaque (given as X:XX am). Note the 'minutes' part of the time.
Now, to find the final cache location: ***UPDATED MARCH 25, 2012***
Take the year you recorded and add 1408 to get a new four-digit number ABCD.
Take the minutes portion of the time given on the plaque and subtract 43 to get a 1-digit number E.
The cache is located at:
N44 22.00E' W78 1A.BCD'
The final location is close enough to walk to but you can also drive right to the spot. It is along a sideroad. Please do not climb/cross the fence. The cache is a small black water bottle. Sign the logbook, only room to exchange small items.
