Geocache Description:

The track can be muddy if it has been raining. The track is easy to follow.

This is roughly a circular lake and it has not apparent tributaries or outlet.

This lake is very deep and is a volcanic caldera that was formed during eruptions around 20,000 years ago.

The lake is not used for lots of water sports.

It has been named as a place where a Maori chief's daughter lost her tiki (A greenstone treasure).

The cache is a 1ltr systema box with the usual trading goods. When placed it also contained the "heli Flys by" travel bug.

There is a track that circles the lake and is well worth spending the time to walk it. It will take approx 2 hours. If you are in a hurry then start at the boat ramp end and it will take approx 20 minutes to get to the cache location
