SK: Pred 60. rokmi vrcholil zápas za oslobodenie obcí v okolí Žiliny. Najväcšie boje boli v okolí Strecna a boj o vrch Polom v Stránavách. Dobitie týchto castí Malej Fatry dávalo predpoklad oslobodenia dalších obcí a mesta Žiliny. Nemecká armáda s modernými zbranami vo vybudovaných skalnatých úkrytoch sledovala a likvidovala nadšených bojovníkov I. csl. armádneho zboru ruských, ukrajinských a rumunských bojovníkov. Magická povestná kóta 1069 m predstavovala vrchol skalnatej hory, co bolo nad ludské sily pokorit a porazit prevahu nemeckého Vermachtu. Tento úžasný a tažký boj zvádzali naši nadšení a oduševnení osloboditelia v dnoch od 18. do 22. apríla 1945, z ktorých mnohí sa nedožili vytúženého vítazstva. Súcasný pamätník na vrchu Javoriny je trvalou pamiatkou obetiam, ktoré zahynuli pri oslobodzovaní okolitých obcí a mesta Žiliny. Ku cache idú dva turistické chodníky: žltý kt. sa neskôr pripojí k zelenému – zo Stránav, cervený – zo Strecna. Cache je priesvitná dózicka ukrytá niekolko desiatok metrov pod pamätníkom s pekným výhladom na Žilinu. EN: 60 years ago, the battle for liberation of villages nearby Žilina was going to its end. The biggest battles were close to Strecno and a battle for Polom in Stranavy. Capturing of these parts of Mala Fatra was supposing liberation for other villages and Zilina town. The German army, with modern weapons in constructed rocky covers, was following and liquidating the enthusiastic and dedicated fighters of the 1st Czechoslovak army commission of Russian, Ukraine, and Romanian fighters. The legendary magic altitude 1069m indicated the peak of a rocky mountain, which was really above human’s ability to capture and also knock out the surplus of German Vermacht. This extraordinary and difficult fight was fought by our eager and elated liberators from the 18th to 22nd April, 1945. Unfortunately, many of our liberators did not make it to the wishful victory. Nowadays, the Memorial at the Javoriny peak is a constant memory for the victims who have died fighting for liberation for nearby villages and Zilina town. There are two tourist roads that lead to cache: yellow one that later on connects with the green one – from Stranavy, red one from Strecno. Cache is a seen-through bottle, hidden couple of meters under the Memorial with a wonderful view at Zilina.
