This is a multipoint stroll in the wonderful Larose Forest. The walk is mainly over established trails, however the actual cache grab will require following a small foot-path and depending on the route you take, a bit of a scramble up and down some embankments.
The full walk is less than 2 Km.
Larose Forest is a 11,000 Hectare managed forest in Prescott-Russell. It is a wonderful area for walking & exploring, mountain biking and dog sledding. There are also
off-road vehicles using the trails. After a snowfall, try this with your snowshoes or x-c skis!
You will have to find 2 waypoints before getting to the cache:
First Waypoint: "Pick Up Sticks" Look for a 35 mm film canister. It contains the co-ordinates for Waypoint 2.
Second Waypoint: "Fern Gully" You will be changing direction here and leaving the main trail, and continuing along a foot path for a short way. Look for a 35mm film canister. It contains the co-ordinates for the cache.
Third Waypoint: The cache. Watch your footing. Snow could be an issue if there is more than a foot on the ground. Look for a small coffee-can sized container.
