Geocache Description:

This cache is located behind the Kintraw Standing stone and cairn. Parking is road side and very limited, becareful on the approach as there are some nasty hairpin bends, which are the site of a number of crashes.

***CONTAINS THE LAIRDS CHALLENGE PART 5.***

The Kintraw standing stone is one of my favorite stones. The view from it down Loch Craignish is truly spectacular. Jura is normally visible, with the dinosaur like islands of Loch Craignish in the fore, as is Ardfern and the Ardfern marina.

The site is surrounded by ancient hill forts and duns, have a look at your OS map and see the amount near-by. To the south-east is the Kilmartin Glen and Dunadd, where you could easily spend a whole day or more looking at the other standing stone, stone circles, cairns, duns and Carnassarie Castle.

Have a look at his link to find out more about the Kintraw standing stone. (visit link)

This cache has been placed as part of the Argyll Winter Cache Bash 2007, held at Lunga Estate. (visit link)
