A Geocachers bash in the heart of Gatorland. Do not go to the posted coords they are for a cache in the park. The event will be held at one of the 2 covered pavillions nearby. We will meet on Saturday, Feb 17th at 9:30 am for a day of fun, food and excitement. There is a playground for the kids, grills for those who stay long enough to cook lunch,and hiking trails for the adults and a ton of caches in the area.
Well this event was originally slated for Lake City but events just kept pulling me back to Gainesville. Since I haven't seen most of the Gainesville cachers for a while and I am sure there are many newbies in the area I decided what the hey let's hold this event in Gainesville. Now my last two attempts at a breakfest events have been failures due to the fact that I have depended on restraunts to be open well this time that won't be an issue. The Fed will be cooking eggs, bacon, and potatoes. If cachers would bring drinks, pastries and sundry other items and a huge appetite for adventure this should be a great event. We will have breakfest and then embark on a journey of discovery in the nearby San Felasco Hammock State Park. This is located near the infamous Devil's Millhopper. The hiking and biking trails here are extraordinary. There are developed mountian bike trails on the North end of the Preserve as well as horse and hiking trails. Stay tuned to this page for updates.

JerseyGirl has asked me to pass along that a selection of the new FGA shirts will be available at the event for purchase or those who have ordered shirts you can pick them up there. Thank you The Management.
Update 2/07/07
The event activities for the day will include
6 to 8 new caches.
A check your unit for accuracy contest both under tree cover and outside tree cover.
There will be no competive prizes for the event but a few giveaways for those who show up so come and be a part of another great event.
I will be posting a list of needed food items in the event section of The NEFGA Forums so stop by and see what we need and post your intentions to come either here or the NEFGA forum.

Okay so as of this posting we need a few people to bring coffee somehow thermos I guess.
We need some crossiants, bread ect.
We need fresh chilled fruit melon, cantalopue, ect.
We need pastries, baked goods are always welcome.
The Fed is bringing Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Grits and potatoes. I also have plates, cups, napkins, plasticware.
If you will let me know what you can bring I will update the list and make sure we have all bases covered.
