If Ida MudKat Back to the Mud Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Burgi Dad: Yuzawa Kat and I brought Cuzzin JJ, a favored GeoMuggle related to us GXers, here to check on the cache. Things have really grown since last we visited. While the location is still intact, the camo is a bit overwhelming... Besides, we're over a YEAR (GW5) past due for a updated MudKat cache -- for now, we've decided to let this pretty little corner of the park rest during the heat of the summer. Someone else can place a cache here, or we'll consider revisiting it in the fall.

Geocache Description:

Another in the series. "If Ida" is short for "If Ida known you were coming, Ida baked you a cake." This series celebrates GXers we have met. Do you know what (who) a MudKat is? Yuzawa Kat and I proudly proclaim, "Yes, we do!"

If you recognize this write-up, scroll down to the last couple of paragraphs for the new cache details. If "inquiring minds want to know", read on with anticipation!

Ever since we first "discovered" this city park, we've maintained a GX here. The background picture is the park sign if you think it might help... We bumped up the difficulty by one star because finding the park is part of the fun...

First, it was to celebrate our friendship with NEFGA GXers with There's GOLD in Them Thar Hills. These next caches, If Ida Mudkat, If Ida MudKat Closer to the Mud , and now this one, celebrate our friendship with Mudkat , a GXing friend of ours from Western NC.

Here is MudKat with Yowie Zowie Yuzawa.

GXers aren't so different, no matter where their home turf is. MudKat and Yuzawa Kat have more similarities than most, though. MudKat's usual GXing partner is Archie Dad ; Yuzawa Kat's is me, Burgi Dad . Their birthdays are the same day, 10/29. And MudKat likes to play with mud (actually, potters' clay), just as Yuzawa Kat seems to end up in mud (usually when GXing).

MudKat responded: "Now actually, a mudcat (with a C) is a Florida freshwater catfish. They are native to Florida, as I am, live covered in mud, as I sometimes do, and they eat garbage (translated to "junk food") as I sometimes do." Now do you understand why Yuzawa Kat wants to be a MudKat when she grows up

If Ida MudKat Closer to the Mud was archived in January, 2007, because the Bishop Creek-Harbor Woods Slope Repair Project changed the face of the water feature. Construction is now complete.

Once you get to the cache coords, the sports GeoMuggles may wonder what you're doing. If you're REAL GXers, your best bet would be to CITO as you look in the area. Nothing else will deflect a curious GeoMuggle's attention any quicker than that, and this place could usually use a little GXing TLC. By now, carrying a CITO bag should be like carrying your own pen! In addition, please beware of the Florida State Bird. Be prepared for sightings as well as possible (probable) contact...

~~ Have a blessed day. Happy caching. ~~
