Geocache Description:

No speedos required

The stand of beech reaches high atop a beautiful ridge. Slow-growing, common deciduous tree that can live up to 300-400 years. Beech trees are found in eastern United States and Canada. Mature tree can reach 90-100 feet high and spread 50-70 feet. The beech has smooth, pale gray bark and dark green, elliptical leaves with toothed edges.
The beech nut provides fat and protein, is edible for humans and crucial source of nourishment for wide variety of birds and mammals.
The wood can be used for flooring, furniture, novelties, railroad ties, baskets, pulp, and mostly in this end of the province, for firewood. Its leaves really hang on through the winter months and rustle bravely long after most hardwoods have shed their foliage.

This woodland camoed cache is placed in the beech forest and we would ask that you handle it with caution and care.
It contains a FTF certificate, log book, pencil, trading items, and a travel bug upon placement
