An easy access off a country foot path, watch out for deep holes just before the cache.
Piethorn valley is one of those out of the way valleys that can be described as 'A Hidden Gem' Six reservoirs including Rooden which is graced with two dam walls. It has various footpaths but the popular one going round the three main reservoirs is an easy stroll and I have counted the ruins of four good sized 'farms' so its anybodies guess how many more there are in the hills or under the water. As I said it can be an easy stroll or can be extended up the valley to Windy Hill (where on a weekday there is a burger bar) and over to Blackstone Edge. The cache is a small one containing a badge, a whistle and a geocoin KAYAKERINME. There are two underground 'buildings' just before The Farm and if anyone can shed some light on them I would be gratefull, or in fact any history of the valley. PS on the way in is a Cemetery without as far as I can see a church.
