Dizz-Knee Challenge Part VII NJ State Map

Collect Your County Cache

This is the seventh in a series of twenty-one caches that will be placed in each of New Jersey’s 21 counties. This one completes the Hudson County requirement. This cache is located in scenic Liberty State Park which is on the New York Harbor, less than 2,000 feet from the Statue of Liberty. A certain number of people completing the Dizz-Knee challenge will be given a new, commemorative geocaching coin, trackable on geocaching.com, unactivated.

County Cache Facts: I was very bored today, with nothing to do, so I hopped in the car, drove north as far as the Turnpike would allow me and eventually stopped a smidge short of New York City. I looked for the usual brown signs indicating parks and recreational areas and I discovered Liberty State Park. As far as parks go, this has the best view EVER. There was a police officer there to greet me who politely told me the park closes at 10:00 PM.

The first thing I did was visit a couple of caches in the immediate vicinity. The first cache I chased down, Rook in the Reeds by zferis, was to satisfy my Hudson County requirement for the Tour De Cache. This cache was placed in such a unique place, nothing like we have back at home. I encourage other cachers to visit this site and think about the cache name. My cache and this cache are exactly .12 miles apart. This cache is .17 miles from the posted parking coordinates. The second cache, There's George...He's Flying a Kite! by Kitegirl was a well-placed micro. I was freezing when I ran the 360 feet to retrieve the cache. Brrrrrrr. This cache was about 1/2 mile away from my cache and zferis' cache.
