THE SERIES
I planned this series of five caches for those individuals who enjoy a good hike and appreciate a fair cache hidden along the way. If you require a deathmarch or daring search-and-rescue techniques to recover the cache container, then this is not the series for you!
Use Ft. Ord's Creekside Terrace Trailhead off Portola Drive in Salinas and plan a minimum of one hour's walk just to arrive in the area of the caches. The caches have been numbered so that they form a rough circle route. I feel that attempting them in number order provides for a hike with the fewest elevation changes. However, if you wish to challenge yourself further, try the route in reverse order.
THREE SISTERS
This trail has several steep spots and serves as a popular mountain bike route. Watch your footing on the loose gravel and be alert for those whirring wheels. Also, be sure to enjoy the beautiful views from the ridge. The cache is a clear plastic Lock & Lock box filled with small trade items and a log, hidden just off the trail. Please provide your own pen.
On 9/5/07 the cache was relocated due to bee activity in the vicinity of the hide. If you are in the neighborhood, please feel free to log this rehide as a new find.
