As with most puzzle caches, the listed coordinates are not the
cache location, in order to find the cache you will have to solve
the puzzle. If sudoku is to your liking, then you might enjoy
another Japanese game known as Kakuro.
Kakuro is the big brother to sudoku and can be a real bear when it
comes to getting the correct answer. This particular puzzle is not
designed to be difficult, but hopefully it won't be a 'walk in the
park' either. The concept of kakuro is simple, the given number is
the sum, and the blank boxes below or to the right (the run) must
add to the sum. The 'sum box' is split in half, the top number
coincides with the 'run' to the right while the bottom number
coincides with the 'run' below it. Just like sudoku, you can not
repeat a number in a run, although it may be repeated in the a
column or row.
Example: You may encounter a sum of 6 with a run of two boxes.
The numbers adding to six are 1+5 or 2+4. The number three can not
be used twice, so it is automatically eliminated. Another example
may be a sum of 7 with a run of three. There is only one solution
1,2,4. Which order they appear in all depends on the puzzle though!
For a better, more detailed tutorial do a Google search and you
will soon be knee deep with information. Solve the attached puzzle
and fill in the corresponding numbers to the letters to find the
final cache. You can also download a version of the puzzle without
the coordinate letters if you visit the gallery. One final note, we
have discovered the coordinates should take to you around fifty
feet north of the true hiding location.
