A few of us local
geocachers decided there should be some sort of geocaching
event in our area. As such, bosserman3, CarlfromOH,
Ed_S, JoshnMaya, and Pyro365 met one morning (for breakfast
of course!) and cooked up A
Geocaching Event in Firestone
Park.
This event's
main purpose is to meet and enjoy fellowship with fellow geocachers
and their families.
The event will run from 1:00 - 5:00
PM on Sunday, February 25, 2007. The venue is an enclosed,
heated pavilion with indoor restrooms. There is a small
electric range, a sink, and electrical outlets. There is
no refrigeration, but in February we probably won't need
any!
We are asking attendees to
bring a snack and/or beverage to
share and to post a note
(using the "Write note" function in Geocaching.com) the
following: 1) what food/drink you will bring, 2) how many
adults will attend, and 3) how many children will attend, including
the ages of the children. Please bring paper plates and
plastic eating utensils for your party. No alcoholic
drinks are permitted in the park. The food/drink
offerings will be updated on this page as they come in. Your
hosts will provide coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies. Also,
we will have free or discounted coupons donated by local
restaurants.
News Flash -
2/20/07! Thanks to the generosity of teamovcacher we will
have some cool "give-aways", including t-shirts, gift certificates
for GeoCoinClub.com, and other knick-knacks. Thanks teamovcachers! And
now let's not forget contributions from Pyro365 and
Ed_S!

As
of 2/20/07 we have approximately 50 people signed
up!
Looks like the temps will
be in the 40's!
Planned activities are:
Games and prizes for the
kids.
A special geocache or two. There
will be many more than 2 special/new geocaches!
A table to exchange, share, display
your geocoins, swag, and Travel bugs.
A slideshow of your submitted
geocaching photographs (please email one or more of your favorite
geocaching photographs to CarlfromOH).
