Geocache Description:

There is easy parking and you will be a bit out of sight, but still watch for the muggles.

A guard may be a person, an organization, or a component.

  • It may be a person who looks after the safety of people or property, and/or make sure prisoners do not escape. Organization army-types like Border Guard, Immortal Guards, Republican Guard, and the Royal Guard. The Swiss Guards are Swiss mercenary soldiers who have served as bodyguards, ceremonial guards and palace guards at foreign European courts from the late 15th century until the present day (in the form of the Papal Swiss Guard). They have generally had a high reputation for discipline and loyalty to their employers. (O.K. I added that because my grand parents were born in Bern, Switzerland.) There are also the police-type, like the National Guard and the Coast Guard.

  • A term used in sports, like football, the guards are the two players that line up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a team.

  • There is the guard on a piece of machine, that stops people’s hands ect from getting inside and getting injured.

  • The aircraft emergency frequency (also known as guard) is a frequency used on the aircraft radio band reserved for emergency communications for aircraft in distress. The frequencies are 121.5 MHz for civilian, also known as International Air Distress (IAD) and 243.0 MHz for military use, also known as Military Air Distress (MAD). Both are in use at the international level.

  • To guard against soil erosion after development of landscape, sod and other coverings, like trees and plants, keep the soil from washing down the drain, into streams or to lower land.

  • Then there is the guardrail, when hit by a vehicle, helps keep it from plunging over the edge. Oh yea, when a Geocacher see the word Guard in a cache name, they already have a picture in their mind of what they will be stopping next to while retrieving the cache.
