This cache is hiden by an abandon railroad trestle once used by the Erie Lackawana railroad to haul milk from local dairy farmers to the city of Buffalo. The Tracks were laid down in the mid 1800's and over the the years trains hauled many different kinds of payloads over this trestle, but these tracks were mostly known for the milk train that came by on a daily basis and stopped a short distance west of here where route 98 turns to 4 lanes for a short distance. At that location the tracks were level with the ground and the roadway was dug out under the tracks. Over the years this under pass had flooded many times and route 98 was unpassable. After many years the under pass was filled in and the road was brought back up. The Milk Train faded out of the local landscape with milk trucks going to the dairy farms. The farmers no longer need to haul the milk to the loading docks each day and wait for the train. The final trains rolled over this trestle in the 1970's and the tracks removed some time later. The only thing left are a few graffiti covered train trestles that snowmobilers and atv's use. Near the cache there are posted signs. You will not need to cross into the posted property.
