this cache is located off of Swamp Rd. near Beaver pond in the Birch Hill Dam area. Access can be gained off of River Rd in Royalston or Goodnow Rd. in Winchendon.
We decided to call the cache "Grand Theft Auto" because the local police departments have found several stolen cars in the area over the years. If you do find one, call Royalston PD at 978-249-4211. If you find one on the Winchendon side, which is about 1/2 mile east on Swamp Rd. call WPD at 978-297-1212. The area is great for fishing, and there is picnic tables nearby. The area may be closed to vehicles due to flood control. If so, the nearest gate is off of River Rd. about .6 of a mile away. The roads are passable with most vehicles, although an off road geo-bicycle may be a great way to explore the area. You are looking for a camo duct tape covered plastic peanut jar filled with the usual cache items including some matchbox cars, police department key rings and a Smiley & Wilson travel bug. This cache is relativley close to our "Dam Train Cache", but don't try to bushwack, take the roads, it will be safer.
