Johnny Damon Because... Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

ice009: It had a good run...

It appears that there is some sort of homeless camp setup near the cache location. I don't feel comfortable with a cache at this location anymore.

Geocache Description:

***Do not go to the above coordinates. The cache is not there. Besides, you may get hit by a car if you do.

Quote from the article:
“Similarly, they lost Johnny Damon because they believed — correctly, in my view — that as good as he is, he won’t be worth $52 million over the next four seasons.”

Most of Red Sox Nation believes that Johnny Damon betrayed them after the 2005 Season. Most Sox fans have learned to cope with that fact. Others haven’t…..

I recently overheard a fellow talking on the phone about baseball tickets to a couple of games at Fenway Park (quite by accident of course). When he was finished, I realized that he was actually a fellow geocacher passing on coordinates to a cache a short distance from the posted coordinates.

Here is the dialogue that I heard.

Hello? How ya doin? What can I do for you?
Pause
Sure, I can get you tickets for today’s game against the Devil Rays.
Pause
No problem. What time do you want to meet?
Pause
What would you say we meet at the Bull & Finch?
Pause
OK. Is there any chance you would prefer tickets for the Yankee game tomorrow?
Pause
Naturally, you would prefer today. I forgot that Wakefield is pitching.
Pause
Why don’t you let me throw in Yankees tickets for tomorrow’s game at half price as long as you pay for them today?
Pause
Why not?
Pause
Oh, because you don’t want to have to watch that lowlife Johnny Damon on the field.
Pause
I don’t know if I could stand to watch him play either…Who would?
Pause
No problem, I’m going to hit a cache or two and then I’ll meet you at the Bull and Finch around noon.

End of Transcript...

Puzzle Hint: the conversation was between Hall of Fame inductees WAA & LFC. Naturally Trot Nixon should clue you in.
