Arriving at GZ you will find an Historical Marker built to commemorate the location of the Julia Creek Police Station. The plaque you will see was unveiled on the 17 November 2000. Mounted Police Patrols operated from here between 1842-1846 and at the time, this was the most Northerly Police Post in South Australia. A native constable also worked with the 2 Troopers around this area which was inhabited at that time by people of the Ngadjuri Tribe. Lastly...... For those who have admired the recent improvements at the Eudunda Town Gardens, Jim and Ronda have also been responsible for a lot of the wonderful work that has been created there! Local Artists Jim and Ronda Dunstan created this fabulous monument on the boundary fence of their land for us all to enjoy the early history at this location. Please take the time to read the information they have gathered and artistically built into the monument. Many Thanks to them for also allowing the cache to be here! And remember you are being watched by four-fun's The Trooper's Watchtower (GC10JMM) not far away!
