Collect Your County Cache

This is the ninth in a series of twenty-one caches that will be placed in each of New Jersey’s 21 counties. This one completes the Somerset County requirement. This cache is located in beautiful Otto's Farm Park. A certain number of people completing the Dizz-Knee challenge will be given a new, commemorative geocaching coin, trackable on geocaching.com, unactivated.

Welcome to Otto's Farm Park

County Cache Facts: I was off from work today and knew I had to get busy placing the rest of my Dizz-Knee caches so I decided that Hunterdon & Somerset Counties would be next on the list. I have to say, these counties are quite beautiful and nothing like my home county of Camden.

The first thing I did was visit a caches in the immediate area, .33 miles from my cache. The cache I chased down, Otto's Outing by Jan and the Man, was to satisfy the Somerset County requirement for the Tour De Cache. This cache is .45 miles from the trailhead coordinates while mine is .13 miles from the trailhead. If you have the time or can plan ahead, I would try to do a very nice series of caches put together by the aforementioned caching team of Jan and the Man called Readington Ramble Series highlighting the Readington area. I found several of the caches in this series and each one was better than the last. The other caches in this definitive regional series are: Hillcrest Hideaway, Hill of the Mill, Way Out of Whitehouse, Old Dutch Farm, Rockafellow Rapids, Higginsville Hike, Summer Fun

My cache isn't that difficult of a find; it is at the base of a tree. Watch the stickers as they surround and protect this cache. There is an eye in this hurricane of thorns and that is where this cache is. There are many photo opportunities and if you are lucky, you will catch a whole mess of deer like I did. Anyway, good luck, be careful and say hi to Otto.
