This cache is at one of my favorite beach camping locations. It's a great place for a summertime getaway on Okinawa.
I first started coming here in 1991 and we watched 2 old women walk down to the water every day and pick Mozoku seaweed from the nets. The nets were suspended in the water from steel poles driven into the seabed. They looked like giant hammocks with a float tied to the middle to keep them off the bottom. The old ladies couldn't even stand up straight and were bent 90 degrees at the waist from all the years of harvesting this crop. What awesome times I had back in those days on Okinawa. Now, there's just a couple of the metal poles left sticking up as a reminder.
For this cache, you'll want good, solid footwear and some time. You won't get wet unless there's a REALLY big wave. Visiting this cache at night is not advised.
The container is 10CM in diameter and 35CM long. The first to find is in for a real treat but needs to be extremely careful when handling/opening the cache. Inside is a German Pilsner Beer glass, really beautiful. It's packed in paper, but you'll want something to put it in for the trip so it doesn't get broken on the way back to your car. Other items include Pokemon, One Piece and other small character figurines. Also included is an Ultraman figure. For those older Geocachers, you may remember Ultraman from TV. The show was overdubbed in English but the mouth movements never lined up and made the show look like a bad karate movie. Oddly enough, Ultraman was invented by an older man right here on Okinawa.
There are no further hints for this cache, so please take heart and search a little for a great reward while kids play on the beach.
