The cache is situated near a small wood on a hill overlooking Charminster and the new village of Charlton Down. The initial climb from the north is quite steep but the views from the top are well worth the effort!
If you park in the lay-by on the north side of the hill, along Herrison Road (by CD Walks 1), a Public Footpath takes you up the hill to the location.
The first part of the climb is reasonably steep but as you near the top the terrain gets a little easier! Watch out for the horses and ponies in the 2nd & 3rd field. They are inquisitive but harmless.
DO NOT ENTER THE WOOD - The cache IS NOT IN THE WOOD!
At the top of the hill turn right through the new wooden fence to the new `kissing gate` located about 100m to the west.
You will already experience the great views to the south of the area to Dorchester and across towards Hardy`s Monument and the coast.
Please help yourself to the `bits & pieces` and remember to leave a message in the log book. Please make sure that it is recovered with vegetation before you leave the location. Enjoy the views.
