Enjoy the views to your left of a popular bay and to your right a quiet rocky bay that is great for collecting shells. Also close by is a public footpath through a woodland passing a dolmen and Guardhouse.
The Dolmen dates back 5,500 years and is a gallery grave. The outer 18 stones remain but the long mould has vanished. What remains today is largely due to the work of restorers in 1919. When excavated in 1868 finds included a few flint flakes and pottery fragments.
The Guardhouse was built in 1689 using local stone and lintel. There is an information board on the wall.
The cache is a pebble!and please bring a pen to sign the log. Take care in the area it is in especially if you have small children, though it was our youngest that found the spot! Maybe one not to be done on a blustery day.
