Located in a rest area beside SH63 this cache should be an easy one to find, with no bush bashing required to find it.
All native plants and animals in this reserve are protected so please respect the location.
This reserve is all that remains of a forest that once covered much of the Wairau Valley. It hosts a special community of plants, including a small sedge (grass) that occurs naturally in only two other places nationwide.
The nearby river is quite swift so please supervise any children when in this area.
The cache is a 500ml (ish) round container painted black.
Please replace the cache carefully when finished,ensure that it is well camouflaged with its surroundings.
When we were here we watched an English tourist fly fishing for a while. This is a camping ground so watch out for muggles...
