This spot is significant to Waterford because it is how the town got it's name. At one time Baker's Ferry crossed the river here and later the first Waterford/Hickman Bridge was built on this spot. The town of Waterford used to be called Bakersville but since people confused it with Bakersfield they changed the name to Waterford because this is where the people forded the River. People fish and even put their rafts in the river here to float. Sign says park is open from sunrise to sunset.
