Geocache Description:

Located near old Iron Ore strip mines used back in World War 1 era.

Cache is located in a small "Camp" area between two large mounds of dirt from the mining projects. In this area you will find evidence of the machines used to mine the ore. South of here you will find more concrete foundations in a bigger work area. Cache can be approached by using the Mine Bank Trail off of the Blue Ridge Parkway then turning right onto St. Mary's trail for about a mile. Longer access is made by hiking from the St. Mary's Wilderness trail parking lot...
