The Old Harborne Line Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Buckets: After two recent DNF's we came down today for a maintenance visit - and the cache has definitely disappeared. We think it has fallen foul of recent pathway upgrading and general cleaning up of the area. We will replace it in a nearby location as soon as we can.

Geocache Description:

A traditional cache placed on an old railway line now converted into a walkway/cyclepath.

The Harborne railway line was a branch of the London and North Western Railway, which ran from Harborne Junction near Winson Green to Harborne Village, with stations at Hagley Road, Rotton Park Road and Icknield Port Road.
It closed to passangers soon after the Beeching report of 1963 but continued as a freight line to Harborne Coal Depot until the 1970's. Since then it has been converted into a well used cyclepath and walkway.

The easiest access to the cache site is in Percival Road, where there is parking space available. The cache is available 24/7 but, access at night is not recommended due to hostile muggles. This is also a muggle rich environment by day so take care when finding and replacing the cache.

Cache is a medium sized tupperware container, containing:

FTF certificate
Mini Padlock and keys
Metal Tape measure
Football Yoyo
Whistle
Circuit tester
Wildlife Muggle geocoin (i assume the FTF will take)
Logbook and Pen

GPS reception was poor at time of placing so we would welcome advice as to accuracy of co-ordinates.
