A quick cache by the URENCO USA Project.
7/9/10 A new container has been placed in the location (moved
slightly to the east to account for the change in road shoulder due
to construction), a micro this time. Hopefully it will stay put, as
construction on the highway is done. This cache is across the
highway from the URENCO USA project (formerly known as NEF), a
uranium enrichment plant. If approached by security, politely
explain what you are doing (the security supervisor at URENCO USA
is aware of the placement, and it should not be a problem). The
cache is on public land with plenty of pull-off room. Original
listing: A quick cache by the NEF Project. 09-17-09 I checked on
the cache after a report of the lid not closing. If you encounter
this issue, make sure the hinge pins are fully seated. It should
latch then. I didn't have a big enough replacement with me, but
will change it out soon. This cache is placed across the highway
from the National Enrichment Facility. Please place back under it's
coverings so it is not out in the open. Some cachers have been
approached by the NEF Security. If it happens to you, just explain
what you're doing...and please...be polite. 10-30-07 update:
ElectricalEngr asked me to adopt this cache since he lives some
distance away. I have always been cautious of this location across
the road from NEF and a number of cachers have reported contacts
with Security. So, today I took the two big bosses of the Security
Company on a cache hunt. They didn't see any problems with the
location and gave their blessings (and even signed the log). That
may change if there are problems or in the future once production
starts. So, for now all is good. If you are contacted by Security,
please be polite. I also upped the terrain rating to 2.5 due to
extremely heavy undergrowth from a wet summer. KelticKacher -
