KILLIFRETH MINE- the tallest stack. Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

REDRUTH ROAMERS: Been out this afternoon and assessed the hide. Decided to archive it as GZ is more exposed than 10 years ago when we put it out. I think it has run its time. Box taken in and thanks for the 30p that was in it.
Nice area for someone to put a new one now.

Geocache Description:

This is an offset/multi found just off the B3298 between Scorrier and Chasewater.
The above co-ords are for the parking area (holds up to 6-8 cars) and the information board that is needed to obtain the final co-ords.

Hawke's Shaft engine house has the tallest stack in Cornwall. It was doubled in height in 1912 to serve the boilers of a new and larger pump engine. The mine has two main shafts and they are both 600' deep. The mine worked for nearly 100 years, originally for Copper (1826-1860) and then until 1924 for Tin-of which there is still plenty underground so they say!

For the final Co-ords you need to find the No. of boilers for the new cyclinder engine and it's size in inches and centimetres.

A= No of boilers.
BC= new engine in inches.
DEF= new engine in centimetres.

Final cache will be at,
N50.15.D(A-E)(B-F), W005.10.B(C-E)(F-A).

The cache is a 2.4l clip lock box so plenty of room for Bugs and Swaps.
