Geocache Description:

A Nice little walk along the power/pipeline corridor.

We have been wondering what was down here ever since we began Geocaching. Even more so since we moved to Kirkland in 2004. Well, George finally decided to go find out, and he discovered a very cool area! It isn't the Seven Sacred Pools and the road to get to the parking area certainly isn't the Road to Hana, but we think it is interesting and entertaining anyway.

Please approach the listed parking coordinates via NE 93rd off of 132nd Ave NE. There is one other way in but it requires going through a neighborhood park that is posted as private. Don't use it!

The cache is located in a very nice and little visited part of Redmond that serves as a bit of watershed. As such, the area near the cache is wet and you should dress accordingly when hunting. The area is also blessed with a variety of pokey and stingy things, so it would be adviseable to wear pokey and stingy thing resistent clothing, especially during the growing season. Some bushwhacking will be required to get to the container however you should not need to go swimming. The cache is on the south side of the pond and can be approached from either end of the pond. Both ways will likely involve getting your feet wet. Please try to tread lightly and step over, rather than on the ferns.

The area around the cache is a water retention area and there are manmade structures, pipes and access points that could be hazardous if climbed on, in or around. We do not recommend this cache for young children.

You will be looking for a 20 oz. lock and lock with a bit of camo. It is in the moss covered rocks on the pond side in a nice little cubby hole. There should be no need to move anything other than a leaf or two in order to find the container.

Hope you enjoy the area as much as we did.

02/20/07:
Let's make it clear. This area is wet. It is muddy. You should expect to get wet and dirty on this hunt. Full disclosure, so no whining just for the sake of whining. Whining as an integral part of your caching experience is always welcome.
