Geocache Description:

The cache is located near Rhual farm who's fields played host to the National Eisteddfod way back in 1951. The Eisteddfod will again return to Mold in 2007.

Located just up the hill you'll see the obelisk. It's Latin inscription describes a battle which took place here in 429 AD between the locals and the Picts and Saxons. Although extremely outnumbered the locals jumped up shouting Alleluia and charged. The noise echoing around the hills led the enemy to believe that their numbers were greatly increased and they fled the field. Many were killed, others drowned in the River Alyn.

Please ensure that you park considerately and don't block access to any of the fields.
