Hrubý Rohozec behem sedmi staletí
Hrubý Rohozec má ve svých zdech zaznamenán cas více než sedmi staletí. Byl založen kolem roku 1280. Jednotlivá historická období ho stavebne ovlivnila, a to goticky, renesancne, barokne a také empírove, což je sloh na budove zámku nyní nejvíce patrný.
Zámek je až do dnešní doby neustále obýván. Spjat je s mnoha lidskými osudy. Již u vstupní brány na nás shlíží Johanka z Krajku, podporovatelka Jednoty bratrské. Na nádvorí do zdi vsazená náhrobní deska Albrechta Maxmiliána Des Fours, který byl ovencen mnoha tituly, nám pripomene pomíjivost lidského bytí.V zámecké obrazové galerii se setkáme s Louisem Des Fours, lotrinským vyslancem u dvora Rudolfa II. a také s Adletou Des Fours, dlouholetou prítelkyní Jana Evangelisty Purkyne. V jídelne nás bude sledovat pronikavý pohled válecníka z Valdštejnovy armády, Mikuláše Des Fours. S obdivem a v úcte se zahledíme na portrét se sympatickou tvárí doktorky Marie Des Fours, která po celý svuj život cestne plnila poslání lékare.
Hrubý Rohozec má bohaté interiéry. Do soucasnosti se dochovaly dve knihovny, jídelna a zelený salón, které jsou s puvodním dobovým vybavením.
Dále je expozice zarízena ve spolupráci s Umeleckoprumyslovým muzeem v Praze. Opet se zde promítají minulá staletí. Pres místnosti renesance, baroka, rokoka, klasicismu se preneseme slohy 19. st. až na pocátek století dvacátého, k secesi.
Zámek je obklopen menším prírodne-krajinárským parkem s drobnými kamenickými prvky z období romantismu.
The Hrubý Rohozec state castle
On the outskirts of Turnov, in the landscape called Bohemian Paradise, there lies
the Hrubý Rohozec castle.
Originally an Early Gothic castle founded in about 1280, it was built as an inaccessible seat of noblemen, not far from an important trade route leading through the Jizera region.
Today´s appearance of the castle results from several lerge reconstructions, none of which suppressed the former architectural elements of the building. The outcome of the building development, lasting seven centuries, is a harmonic unity with significant features of reconstructions from the periods of Late Gothic from the years 1509 - 1516, late Renaissance from the beginning of the 17th century and Empire from 1822.
Hrubý Rohozec was a family seat of the Krajirs of Krajk, the Vartemberks and Des Fours. Currently, the castle is being rebuilt in 22 richly furnished interiors where the exhibition in the original rooms continues in interiors reflecting the development of furniture from the 16th century until the beginning of the 20th century. Everithing is completed with uniquely arranged dry flowers and plants.
The castle is surrounded with a small landscape park with sculptures from the 18th and 19th centuries.
