Geocache Description:

About a two mile round trip from either parking area. Otherwise a standard 50 caliber ammo can hide in the woods.

From a spot near the cache you can see most of the main part of Smithville Lake. Also in the area near the cache there is a tree protruding from the water and I almost always see ducks, geese and other birds in this area. In late December to late January watch for Bald Eagles. Enjoy the view from the trail here at any rate.

You can park at Sail Boat Cove, but be warned in the summer this requires payment at the gate or a Clay County Parks permit. Parking at the Smoken Davey trailhead on Hwy W is always free.

I didn't notice any Poison Ivy near the cache placement. This is the Smithville Lake area so snakes and other critters are around. This cache is accessible from the unpaved mountain bike/hiking trail or the paved trails. This placement is slightly closer to the mountain bike trail. If would like a more difficult hike overall take the mountain bike trails.

There are 8 caches on this part of the trail system, if you haven't been here before. The total round trip will be just over five miles to do 7 of them from one parking area. Paradise 1 will add 2 miles to your hike from the Smokin Davy trailhead on Hwy W.

Three caches closest to the Smoken Davey Trailhead and parking.
