Geocache Description:

Tired of looking for film containers in the woods with a 10m search radius? Groping through swampy groves of cedars? Grinding through bush & mud like the Marlboro man? Quick dash and grabs within the site of your car (OK, that's not so bad). Get back to nature and enjoy this greenbelt trail. Total route can be approx 3km on a circular trail.

Start by making your way to the Greenbelt P4 parking lot off Timms road. Collect your gear, GPSr, birdseed (for the chickadees) and you are off. Lots of wildlife in this area. On the day I placed this cache, I startled a vicious snowshoe hare from 3m away. At the cache site itself, lots of signs of deer beds in the snow: and two whitetail deer were bounding at the edge of the clearing where the cache is found.

At the the time of posting, cache contains:

  • Flink character (from Bugs Life)
  • Bunny pen
  • fuzzy ball
  • car (from Cars)
  • other stuff
  • at least 3 mini toy Simba flashlights
Plus the usual logbook, pencil, Geocaching manifesto. Container is a 2kg dishwasher scowered peanut butter jar (the local squirrels are very supportive in helping me generate new geocaching containers).

For winter cache & ski enthusiasts, there is no bushwacking involved. You should be able to retrieve this cache without removing your skis. For those onfoot in the winter, please try to keep your yeti prints off the ski trails! Nice hike in the summer too: let me know what the terrain is like under the snow!
