Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Located at the South end of Ashburton this cache is in a very
small public park dedicated to the prior existence of a local
flour mill (I'm not even sure if it was at this site!). The cache
name comes from the French quartz millstone at the site that was
used for oat hulling in the flour mill.
CAUTION - This cache is close to a railway crossing over
SH1, so small children will have to be watched carefully. If
approaching from the south, suggested parking south of the site
(before the railway crossing) and walking down, or better still
turning west & pulling around the corner immediately after the
crossing to park right beside cache site; if approaching from
north, then take the west turn immediately before the railway
crossing and park right beside cache site.
Because of its public location beside SH1, stealth will be required
whilst searching for the micro cache - a 35mm film canister. Cache
contains logbook, pencil and cache note.
There is no room for swaps.
GPS accuracy was 5m at time of placement.
