Geocache Description:

Ammo box on ridge west of Cahuenga Peak

Hiking to Cahuenga Peak, I saw the pine tree out on the ridge from a long way off. It is quite eye catching, looking almost mystical alone out there. I was surprised to find that it looks like it had been deliberately planted, and definately is being tended to by somebody. The base of 9/11 flag pole is also nearby, and worth a visit and a momements quite contemplation. The whole area had a memorial feel to it.

From the cache site there is a great overlook into the Universal Studios back lot. There are also the "usual" views of Disney and Warner, the Valley, LA, the Hollywood Resevoir, and I'm sure Catalina if it's clear.

See "Ooper's Cache" for a list of possible approaches. The cache is an olive and brown painted ammo box. Make sure to wedge it carefully, so that it doesn't end up down hill.
