Geocache Description:

Celebrate the first day of British Summer Time by meeting other geocachers in the wild!!

Ok, not really the wild, but certainly one of the largest urban parks in Europe...

Sutton Park is the second biggest urban park in the UK after Richmond Park..

Date: 25th March 2007

Time: 3pm - NOTE CHANGE FROM ORIGINAL TIME

Location: "The Sutton Park" - A fine establishment catering for all, with plenty of food and refreshments available. It is a family friendly pub with plenty of room and plenty of parking. It is located on the corner of Boldmere Road and Jockey Road, less than a mile from the park.
Thanks to Kev Balders for the negotiations on this.

There will be a number of caches released to coincide with this event, so people can pick them up on the morning before the event, or after if they can still walk after a large lunch. I (ZoomLens) will be placing three in the park, with others to be provided by Team Balders and MumboJumbo.

In addition to those released on the day, there are a number of other caches nearby for those that haven't found them yet.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A FUN RUN IN THE PARK IN THE MORNING OF THE 25TH WHICH WILL MEAN THAT THE TOWN GATE IS VERY BUSY - ALSO THE BOLDMERE GATE MAY WELL BE CLOSED TO VEHICLES. THERE IS OTHER PARKING IN THE PARK, BUT IT WILL BE A GOOD IDEA TO LEAVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME.

The sooner you let me know if you are coming the better, to ensure we have enough space booked at the venue.

There are six entrances to the park, all of which have parking - Parking is free at this time of year.

The park can be accessed by train: Use the Birmingham Cross-City Line. Sutton Coldfield Station. Exit the station via the Car Park, on the Lichfield bound platform and turn left down Railway Road. At the end of the road turn right and follow Park Road to the Town Gate Entrance. Four Oaks Station. Head out along Station Drive to the traffic island turn left towards Sutton along the A5127 Lichfield Road, then take the second turning on the right, Blackroot Road. At the end of the road turn left into the Park at Hartopp Gate. Butlers Lane Station. Turn right onto Butlers Lane, at the end of the lane turn left onto Clarence Road. At the end of Clarence Road turn right onto Belwell Lane and head towards the traffic lights at the top of the hill. At the traffic lights cross over Belwell Lane and then cross over Four Oaks Road, to turn left along Four Oaks Road. Opposite Park Drive turn right into the Park at Four Oaks Gate.
