In ancient times, the Vernal Equinox, the date of equal day and
night and the first day of Spring, was celebrated as the official
beginning of the New Year. To the Indians, this was the eight day
feast of Huli, the last day of which was celebrated by sending
people on fruitless errands. In Scotland this hopeless search was
known as "hunting the gowk". Around here, it's the Snipe hunt.
It should, therefore, be obvious why it has been decreed that
April Fools Day is Tri-Go's "official" holiday.
And to celebrate that holiday, we gather annually to consume
mass quantities of food.

Parking may be limited. You can find more space next door at the
Home Depot's lot. Because of the large group, a 15% gratuity will
be added to the check so a buffet and a drink will run $12 for an
adult, $7 for a kid, and it will be collected when you sign the
log. Payment is not required to attend but as this is a restaurant,
we'll need to note that clearly when you arrive.
This years games and activities:
- Geocoin Logging and Trading : A master sign-in sheet
will be kept for the logging of geocoins. There will be a URL
available at the event so that afterwards you can check and make
sure you have logged ALL of the coins that were there. Also, we
want to actually have the coins there (because if all you need is
the number, why bother having the coin at all).
- How Many of Something in the Something : You know how
this works; a container of some sort has a number of somethings
hidden inside and you have to guess how many somethings there are.
The winning guess gets the container and the somethings.
- Dr. Seuss Poetry Contest : Write a geocaching poem in
the style of Dr. Seuss. Be it something epic like "How the Grinch
Stole Christmas" or more modest like "One Fish, Two Fish", most
entries are welcome. Because Questmaster's
"How the Grinch (almost) stole New Stantion (sic)" is the
prototype for this contest, his entry is disallowed (though any new
entry will be welcome). 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Geocoins are the
prizes. E-mail your entries to the cache owner.
- And more!
After the "official" activities, a smaller group is expected to
imbibe in the New Year just up the street at:
