Geocache Description:

Walk with the spirits of ancient Creek warriors along the banks of
the '' Thronateeska'' (''the place for picking up flint'' - now known as the Flint River).

The coordinates above will lead you to a
spot along the trail where you will find an object from the
present, containing the coordinates for the final cache location!

Be aware of your surroundings as you travel the path of the ancient
ones, for these woods have eyes from the past & the present!

An excellent article on the Flint River Valley can be found here: (visit link)

Cache Notes:

Coordinates above are for the First Stage of this
Multi-Cache!

Cache is an ammo box painted to match the
surroundings!

This area can be muddy after extended periods of
rain, and you may encounter muggles on fishing expeditions as well!

You may park at Albany’s Riverfront Park close to the Flint
RiverQuarium, for an extended hike in!

In addition, you may hike in from the Boat Ramp on Philema Rd.

Cache is accessible from both ends of the Riverfront Trail!

Cache is NOT on the Riverwalk Trail, but can be reached from the trail! Some bushwacking is involved along the riverbank to reach the final cache!

Please supervise small children, as some parts of the trail can be hazardous, and are very close to the river bank!

Cache contains a couple of DVD’s & CD’s, if you
think you may like to swap, please bring either one to trade!

Please remember, motorized vehicles are NOT allowed on the Hiking/Biking Trail !
