Geocache Description:

To find the cache you will first have to discover the names of four famous Arranachs, all of whom were Macs. To get you started the above coordinates are for the childhood home of one of the four Macs, although if you visit today you will find that rather than being a hill sheep farm it is now a Buddhist monastery. The cache itself, a 1 litre tub, is hidden somewhere else on the Isle of Arran.

The word search grid below contains the information you will require to find the cache. So just grab the bull by the horns and then follow him across the page.
McSearch
  1. This Mac was Scotland’s 3rd 1st Minister. Born in Irvine, he grew up on a sheep farm on the Ross Road and was educated at Arran High School.
  2. This Mac was born in 1813 and as a child his family were twice evicted during the Highland Clearances; from the Cock and High Corrie. He went on to found a major international publishing house.
  3. This Mac was a major 20th century Scots language dramatist. Born in Lanarkshire he lived from 1938 until his death in 1985 at High Corrie.
  4. This Mac was neither a native Arranach nor did he live on Arran but was the grandson of an evicted crofter from near Lochranza. He was born in Brixton, is normally associated with Stockton and is considered an adopted son of the island. A maverick Tory till the last he stepped into the breach following the resignation of Anthony Eden after the Suez Crisis and in his later years characterised Mrs Thatcher’s use of the proceeds of privatisation as akin too selling off the family silver.
