A quick park and grab at the historic entrance to a failed resort.
From the Fayetteville Observer, February 9, 2007:
In the 1920's, a lot of land on Poplar Street was part of Montevideo, a 530-acre resort planned for Aberdeen. The land for the resort was split into tracts and auctioned after investor's money was embezzeled.
This entrance is all that remains of what would have been a grand resort to rival the nearby Carolina.
