Geocache Description:

Having lived here for two years this is still one of our favourite places to visit. Ogmore Castle has given us hours of entertainment playing "40/40 Out" and real stepping stones even more entertainment when Auntie Louisa stumbled and lost her glasses along with her cool!

This cache is intended to share one of our favourite places around here. Ogmore Castle has provided hours of entertainment and parking is generally very easy right next to the castle at N 51° 28.827 W 3° 36.733.

On very high river days the stepping stones can disappear completely, usually only in the winter. Then it is possible to walk from the other direction. Park next to the 'Wobbly Bridge' which is at N 51° 29.050 W 3° 36.542 near Merthyr Mawr. Worth a visit to the church and the church yard there if you are in the area anyway.

The Terrain Score of 2 is only to account for the Stepping Stones. If making your way from The Wobbly Bridge then it is flat and paved all the way (a bit muddy in places when wet).

The cache itself is in a tupperware type container. It is about 1/2 litre in size.

To start it off there is:
* A Geocoin
* A Welsh '£' keyring for shopping trolleys
* And the usual Xmas cracker clobber

It is easily big enough to take most Travel Bugs.

The Hint and Spoiler picture really will give this cache to you because I get SO disappointed when I get a 'Not Found' and would not wish this on any of you - too kind hearted for my own good. So if you relish a bit of a hunt then DON'T LOOK!!

Rules for 40/40 Out
Find the large freestanding stone inside the castle. One person (The Catcher) shuts their eyes and counts to 40 while all others hide. The Cathcher SHOUTS out 40 loudly when they get there. Players then need to get to the stone shouting loudly "40/40 Home" whilst The Catcher tries to tag them SHOUTING "40/40 OUT".

Also excellent place to play 'Sardines'.
