Geocache Description:

You are looking for a micro in a small City park. This is definitely an urban cache. Access is no more of a challenge than a walk across the grass. Convenient on-street parking is available. After you find the cache, please put it back in exactly the same position.

This cache is located within view of the athletic fields of Rhodes College. Rhodes is one of America's top liberal arts colleges (ranked #45 by US News and World Report for 2007). It has an enrollment of roughly 1,700.

The Rhodes College campus is an architectural jewel. Its buildings are in the Gothic Revival style and it has maintained a remarkable consistency in appearance as its main campus area has developed during the past 80 years. (The college was known as Southwestern University at Memphis when this campus opened for business in 1925. That slightly confusing name was changed in 1984, and its current name reflects the name of a former college president).

Rhodes atheletes often train by running in the nearby Midtown neighborhood; and a great venue for such activity is the nearby V&E Greenline, accessible about 1000 feet west of this cache. This greenline is a former railroad line converted by the neighborhhod into a 2-mile long walking/running trail. Along its length, four regular caches and at least one mystery cache may be found. The two nearest regular caches are GCV5SD and GCV3MB.
