The cache is set on the South west coast path in South Hallsands which was destroyed by a storm in 1917.
It is believed that the dredging of shingle off shore from 1896 to build the Devonport dockyard eventually lowered the level of the beach which led to storms damaging the houses and then in 1917 a very strong storm destroyed most of the village.
The derelict hotel on North Hallsands has been demolished as it was right on the cliff edge , see photo below.
The parking coords are for North Hallsands then follow the path up around the back of the cliff top houses to the viewing platform.
The cache is a bit further along the coast path.
The cache is a 330ml screw top container with various swaps and £1 for FTF.
