Geocache Description:

A short walk around Almondell and Calderwood Country Park.

Almondell and Calderwood Country Park is a charming little riverside park near East Calder.

This cache is placed near to three interesting bridges.
A Canal Feeder aquaduct where you walk over water which is flowing over water.
A charming covered bridge beside the canal.
A highly impressive Viaduct.

If you approach the cache from the south carpark (N 55 53.891 W003 27.201 ) you will see these three bridges close up.

The park is always full of dog walkers so we have placed the cache a little way away from the path to avoid muggles.

From the canal feeder take a small muddy path up onto the ridge and turn east walking along the ridge parallel to the main path. Several people have gone straight up the bank - this is not recommended

When you find the cache take note of the three digit number inside the lid - this is important information to find A Sneaky Wee Bonus Cache. From the cache site you can either go back the way you came or go on down the hill- be warned this can be slippy and the steep slope may not be suitable for little ones.
You can also park at the North carpark (N55 54.671 W003 27.393) which is closer to Almondell: Not Going Anywhere and the visitor centre which has a small shop and toilets.
