Geocache Description:

Owned by Jersey Waterworks and kept open for the enjoyment of the public this is Jerseys largest resevoir. Completed in 1991 it caused great controvesey in the 1980's when over 8 thousand people protested with a march through the valley and the botonist David Bellamy came to give his support to not flooding the valley. However a larger resevoir was needed and the flooding went ahead. Prior to the flooding a cottage in the valley was used by the BBC as Jim Bergeracs home in the series Bergerac. Now the valley is used by walkers, runners and especially popular with dog walkers.

It is home to much wildlife and birds.

There are 2 parking areas. The Grouville one has just over a hundred steps to get to the pathway.

The cache is a brown cylinder container with usual swaps. As the area is very popular please watch out for muggles and please ensure it is neatly placed back in its place.

Enjoy walking the full circle or shorten by going across the bridge. For more information about the valley please go to jerseywater.com. and please keep to the rules of the valley on the signposts.

By kind permission of Jersey Waterworks.
