Geocache Description:

First Ever Geocaching event in Copperas Cove, Texas

On Saturday, March 24th, 2007 bring your geo-self, geo-family, geo-friend or geo-significant other and enjoy a day of geocaching in Ogletree Gap Park in Copperas Cove, Texas.

Ogletree Pavallion Sponsored and Provided by the City of Copperas Cove (YES!!!! the city is behind Geocaching 100%).

Come to: Ogletree Gap 1878 Post Office Rd. (Hwy 190 West). Copperas Cove, TX 76522 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Ogletree Gap Park in Copperas Cove TX is the original stage stop at this historical town site. This is a beautiful area of 218 acres for Geocaching. The main event will be in the Covered Pavilion, with access to bathrooms and a kitchen.

*Bring your own Chair, we should have plenty but as the event grows it may be a concern*

The day will include a variety of activities, including a Poker Run, a “Lone Wolf” cache in honor of our friend Eagletrek, a GPS Accuracy game (for kids only). Let’s see if the kiddos are really listening when mom and dad take them for a day of caching. And a ton of new caches to discover…Just for the event!!!

FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!!! Pizza Dude we will be providing Pizza
and drinks from his FABULOUS pizza restaurant here in Copperas Cove. We ask that all our geocachers provide one side (or two!!)for the event. We will have a kitchen to cook in and BBQ Grill set up so if there is anything you want to put on the grill, bring it along!! Please let me know what sides you will be bringing.
I will update the event page with a menu for all to see.

DOOR PRIZES, DOOR PRIZES, DOOR PRIZES!!! We received some special items from some special places (and people) which will be given out on the day of the event. There will also be a Prize to the Cacher who has came the Furthest, Oldest Cacher and the Youngest Cacher as well.

COIN TALK, COIN TALK COIN TALK!!! We will set up a special table for geocoin talking and trading. Bring your lists, coins to trade or just plain old coin talk. The person who has the most coins at the event will receive a "Special Prize" for having a largest collection and sharing with the rest of us. TB Exchange!! We will have a TB Drop for all of those who want to exchange some TB’s and or Coins.

BE SURE TO......... Mark you calendars and RSVP, so we
know how many people will be at the event. Geo-dogs are allowed, and encouraged… but they must remain on a leash.

There is also a camping going on that weekend in Dana Point, Belton, TX. Mrs. Captain Picard was nice enough to put together a Geocaching event to coincide with ours. The camp out will be at Dana Peak, in Stillhouse Lake. The GC for the event is: GC116MG "Beat The Chiggers Campout!" (visit link)

POKER RUN INFO: Poker run is where you go to Five (5) different Caches and grab one (1) playing card from each cache. Once you have your "hand" (5) cards, we will tally your hand up at the event. The one with the Highest Hand will win.
