Perhaps: 500 years ago, a young boy stood here and was enthralled by the view. His family, a band of the Kumeyaay, a people of the LaJollan Culture that was here when the first Spaniards arrived, were encamped on the shores of the lagoon which was now spread out before him. Like a shining path to the sea, it caused him to daydream about the world beyond the horizon before him. Perhaps, he was here with the women on a food gathering expedition. Perhaps, he accompanied the men on a hunt for meat. Knowing he would have to help carry whatever they found back to camp, he may have been grateful that the trip back would be downhill. Perhaps, he wondered what peoples and lands were on the other side of the sea and how he would ever go to experience them. Perhaps, you will, too. Perhaps, you will linger a few minutes before you leave and think about how life has changed in 500 years when the land was still wild.
Please replace ammo box in same exact spot and replace the concealment.
