Geocache Description:

One of The Tree Trail series – see #1 for full details.

Crataegus monogyna; “Common Hawthorn”, “May”, “Quick,” is a familiar native, extensively planted as a hedge throughout the country. It has ancient associations with May-day festivities and superstitions and when it’s fragrant flowers open in mid-May, it is a wonderful sight. In Autumn it’s branches are often laden with red fruit – “haws”.

SE of the village now and with the London – Hastings mainline nearby. This is a small cache.
