Under no circumstances should you stop or park on Rt. 287 to access this cache.
The original cache container was a decon box which was a baby from the Peconic Bay Sailors cache named, "And now for something completely different." It has since been replaced with something smaller - making it a micro.

Close - yet so far away..
The cache is on the nearby canal trail.. at a location which is as close as physically possible to the posted coords. Point to point distance is approx 200ft -- the route you'll need to take to get there is likely to be a bit longer..
